NOTES: "Bird was vocalizing from unknown location juniper tree in sagebrush desert." BNA: The male song is heard with possible elements of mimicry. CZ 30/07/2004. [Four songs, at least some of which contain elements of mimicry. I can identify imitations of the calls of Turdus migratorius in the songs beginning at 0:23 and 0:52, and those of Cyanocitta stelleri in the song beginning at 0:38. I further believe that all of these songs include an imitation of a "gargle" call of Parus gambeli, and that the last two songs contain an element that sounds much like the call of Salpinctes obsoletus. It is likely that there are additional imitations here that I cannot identify. Quality unchanged (1-2) - CAM - 7 February 2005]. Habitat: Desert.
