Observation details
3 birds on wire. Viewed at 30-50 feet with 10x binoculars. photos taken. no vocalizations. My initial impression of the birds was that their bills were heavier than I expect from Western Kingbird and there was no yellow on the underparts. They had a black mask and were generally gray, although it was a low light situation. The wings were not dark and the primaries and secondary feathers also had light edges, as Gray Kingbird appears in field guides. After looking at the pictures I am more confident that they were Gray Kingbirds.
