Observation details
I watched this bird for 10 minutes at close range as it actively foraged, sticking mostly to a patch of dense goldenrod. All field marks seen well on this individual indicate a first fall female. Gray hood, broken eye ring, yellow breast and belly (brightest on the under tail coverts) with faint steaking, etc. Photos.
