Observation details
It was associating with a Long-billed Dowitcher. I was there when both birds arrived, at 7:10 am. Both were audible, especially the golden-plover, before I could see them; they were up in the snow and mist. As they flew around the lake, looking for a place to land, the golden-plover was especially loud. But once the birds had settled in, the golden-plover was practically silent. It gave a few low, soft, faint whistles on flushing short distances, but that's all; audio below. And photos.
