Media notes
The Blue Jay's call is followed by low chip notes made by the Sharp-shinned Hawk
Observation details
Was chased out of a shrub in the Merkel Garden by an alert Blue Jay. At 58 sec. and 1 min. 12 sec. there are 2 grating noises made by the Sharp-shinned Hawk. Marshall Iliff identifies the clucking noises as a thrush (possibly also in the thick shrub, hidden, the bird the Sharp-shinned Hawk was intending to catch). However at the time of recording I attributed both the clucks and the grating sound to the hawk.
