NOTES: distance to bird 20m. Peter announces the bird as "Turdus subularis". I can find no evidence that this is a recognized split from Turdus nigriceps as of 01March04. Ridgely & Tudor (1989) considered the subspecies subalaris to be a separate species from Turdus nigriceps, based on unpublished vocal differences; this was followed by Sibley & Monroe (1990), Clement (2000), and Ridgely et al. (2001), and represents a return to the classification of Hellmayr (1934). Proposal needed for AOU recognition. Habitat: Forest, Evergreen Forest, River, Riparian.
