Yellow-green Vireo - Rodeo Lagoon, Marin County, California, USA - September 26, 2018
Observation details
Located in a mixed flock of Warblers and Sparrow/Juncos on Simmonds Road near its junction with Field Road c. 150 yards south of the main lagoon (this Fall's Hermit Warbler Spot!). Large Vireo with bright lime green flanks, breast band, and under tail coverts and general bright-ish olive-green back and wings, made ID pretty straight forward versus Red-eyed Vireo. Under-parts off white merging with the lime yellow flanks, breast and undertail coverts. Slate-gray cap, light buffy-white supercilium, and large bill. Very active and difficult to photograph as constantly moving within the Cypress Trees and Monterey Pines at this location, but a few photos below the wet the appetite! Hope it stays to be enjoyed by others!
