NOTES: Calls and tapping recorded in two parts at 18:07 and 18:09 along Estrada do Gave¿ just south of unmarked logging road into sustainable forestry plot (Bloco A), ca. 2 km. N Estrada do Caing¿ [ca. 19¡ 04' 32Ó S, 39¡ 54Õ 17" W]; bird was seen eventually; initially 10-15 meters away and 3-5 meters up in undergrowth along roadside, then 2 meters up and 18 meters away at end of cut; in response to playback, the bird flew low across road and gave a Òtreep, treep, treepÓ song, which I managed to get onto tape in following cut (#99-106-01). Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Bill Drumming, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
