NOTES: Song and calls recorded in two parts (8:56, 9:13) after playback of itself ; bird was initially 10 meters away and at eye-level in open branches after playback of itself by Luciano N. Naka; seen exceptionally well as it moved about in small, open trees in relatively open campina site; for second part of this cut (NOT COPIED), the bird was 12-15 meters away and 5 meters up; seen while recorded; bird was in almost constant motion moving between 1 1/2 and 10 meters up, often using exposed perches; no additional playback; only two songs played back, after which, the bird approached but did not call more frequently (nor did it give different songs, at least at first); some of this may include agitated calls given in response to playback; in all, the bird was 8-20 meters away when recorded; high, thin clouds; 10-15 knot breeze; 85¡ F. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Evergreen Forest, Savannah, Edge, Grove, Sand.
