NOTES: Natural song of unseen bird that was low, presumably on or very near ground, in dense undergrowth of good, terra firme forest about 10 m S of entrance road along a trail that left road about 200 m out from base clearing; no apparent response to later tape playback; a second bird was singing off in the distance; mostly clear, calm, 84¡ F. ML: Background subject changed from recordist's original identification of Ramphastos tucanus cuvieri to Ramphastos tucanus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015.
