NOTES: 136 songs and 3 long calls of bird #3 at dawn; first part at 5:35, second at 5:48; dawn chorus of bird #3 recorded along north side entrance road ca. 100-150 m short of base clearing (03¡21Õ18" S, 54¡56Õ50" W); tape began at 5:19:30, with first song on tape the birdÕs third song of the morning, after bird began with a long call at 5:15:45 and another at 5:19:04; unseen bird was initially 50-60 m away, later 40-50 m away and 30 m up; I missed two songs when bird crossed road to a point 40-45 m away, beginning again at 5:36:22, apparently in an interaction with a second bird on S side of road in tree with heavy vine tangles; after I walked up a short distance, bird was 30 m away and 25-30 m up at end of last part; bird began again briefly, giving five songs beginning at 5:51, with recorder on at 5:54:21, now on N side of road about 20 m in and 120 m from base but it stopped before I got onto it; second bird singing off in distance also gave a long call; clear, calm, 72¡ F, sun not yet up.
