NOTES: Originally recorded at 15/16ips; digitized at 3.75ips. Taken from right channel only. Hi-shelf filter -95dB >1kHz. Note on reel: "This tape has good 20-Hz short pulse doublets from AKAI C-080 to the end of the reel. Ship noise partially masks them for most of the 1st half of reel." Reference: Thompson, Paul O. and William A. Friedl, 1982, "A long-term study of low-frequency sounds from several species of whales off Oahu, Hawaii. Cetology 45: September 30, 1982. Equipment notes from this reference indicate "two hydrophones, 11.6km apart and bottom-mounted at 400 fathoms off the northernmost point of Oahu... Hydrophone response was essentially flat from 20 to 300Hz and was attenuated at about 15dB per octave above." SEAOCEAN.
