in willows
Observation details
Olive green back, black eyeline with white above and gray crown, white breast, heavy bill. Feeding with warbling vireos and warblers west of old stone house in willows and in Russian olives, which are an important berry crop tree in the basin, if controlled to limited select trees. I have documented over 18 species of birds feeding on the berries thru the fall and winter. The red-eyed vireo is a spring and fall basin rare migrant usually observed every year on the refuge or nearby .
