Media notes
I thought I was photographing the local musk lorikeet (in VERY poor light), but when it flew off, a series of high pitched but very clear notes (not the high pitched lorikeet call of the Musk). When I later looked at photo, it's obviously a Swift Parrot. Yellow edges on the red around face, and the red is a quite different pattern to the red on Musk Lorikeet.. Some red fainly visible under tail, faint blue tinge to the green behind eye.
Observation details
It was high up in a dead tree, not keeping company with the Rainbow Lorikeets. After it flew I could not relocate it. There are quite a few flowering ironbarks in the area near the school...
