Media notes

NOTES: Song of same bird as cuts #99RDAT02-07 & 08 after additional playback. Bird was now in dense undergrowth (with some bamboo) about 10 meters away below eye level and downslope from us (probably 2+ meters up); mixed-species flock had moved off by this time, and bird seemed to be more or less alone; no additional playback; bird was never actually seen singing, but was glimpsed as it flew across road as a bird of right size, shape, and color, and then began singing from the new spot (also seen well following aggressive approach in response to initial playback). Response to playback: Approach. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Second-growth.

Additional species

  • White-eyed Foliage-gleaner Automolus leucophthalmus
  • Roadside Hawk Rupornis magnirostris
