NOTES: Song, possibly given in response to whistling. Bird was seen and recorded in taller forest along road about 300 meters short of coffee plantation; when recorded, bird was 15-18 meters away and five to eight meters up in dense growth under canopy of tall trees in best part of forest fragment; scattered clouds, calm, low 70s; internal announcement; this cut was recorded after some whistling (though not right in front of bird), and as such it may be a whistled response; bird was well seen, with these later observations suggesting that the bird was higher up and farther away than initially suggested; when seen, bird was high up on exposed perch; song after whistling was the same, but given more frequently; this was a dark-brown bird of which I have a detailed description; delete dead air between announcements. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
