NOTES: Bird zipped back-and-forth across road in response to playback, often perching in the open about five to seven meters up; bird was 15-18 meters away when recorded; eyes seemed to be dark brown, but bird was in full adult male plumage; briefly seen with this bird (an obvious adult male) was a second bird that was in female plumage with a dark eye and relatively little gray on the head; canopy here was about 25+ meters with the forest appearing somewhat less scrubby than most encountered in the area; there were also some palms and bamboo in the understory; the song given in response to playback was basically the same (though possibly with the terminal chip given less often); sun was up; clear, calm, 70¡ F. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
