NOTES: Twitter songs and calls. This cut begins at 17:04, with the bird foraging initially 35 meters away and about 3/4 up on a relatively small tree; this is the same bird that I had been recording, now a short way beyond my trailhead; the bird was giving odd, twittering songs at this point; the bird was initially seen 30 meters up, before it flew down to 18-20 meters away and 12 meters up near the top of a dead stump/trunk; it seemed to be the bird that was pounding, possibly excavating a nest; the sun was in the tops of the trees; humid, thin clouds overhead, calm, 84¡ F. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatoides to Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatoides/dorbignyanus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
