NOTES: Notes: "definitely saw one male and one female. may just be a pair but unsure if young are also present and calling. tapping and calls of a pair (if not a family group) that were well seen along road several stream crossings above campground; birds were foraging in upper branches (often the trunk) of moderate size pines." Recorded with HHb PDR-1000, Sennheiser MKH-20 microphone inside a 30" Roche fiberglass parabole, HHb filters in cut position and attenuators off unless noted otherwise HPF@180 -SBA 04/11/02 [In addition to 175 examples by at least two birds of the "peek" Call Note of BNA, this recording contains one Short Rattle (1:045-1:055), three series of "Wicka" Calls (1:08-1:095, 1:325-1:34, 3:18-3:195), and tapping. Another call given during the announcement at 4:43-4:45 probably represents a Rattle, but it was a little far off to be certain.
