Observation details
Same birds as reported in an earlier checklist, except there were more present than I tallied earlier. Small sandpiper about half the apparent volume of Killdeer also present, all poking in mudflats and in water of shoreline. Medium-length black bill slightly droopy due to curve of lower mandible. Black legs. Strongly buffy appearance of head and breast; clean white below. Slight supercilium, but stronger and whiter on one apparent adult that was less buffy. Scaly-appearing upper wing coverts due to dark centers and pale edges. Attenuated shape; wings longer than tail. Abrupt, churring flight call.
