Red-necked Phalarope
Observation details
This is the same juvenile Red-necked Phalarope first observed on 24 Aug, Friday morning by Brad Jacobs, then observed by Kendell Loyd, Steve and Debbie Martin, Pete Monacell, Kathleen Anderson, Sandy Elbert, Jim Gast, Donna Brunet, Shelby Thomas, John Besser, Greg Leonard, Edge Wade and others.. This is the third day that it has been present in the small stretch of mudflats and water near the blind in Pool 14. Park in the spur parking lot on the west side of Pool 14 and walk about 10 minutes down the mowed dirt road toward the viewing blind. There are paths through the tall vegetation at the last 100 yards made by birders and you may have to follow them all to find the bird somewhere in the 200 yards of water and mudflats.
