Observation details
Continuing male, initially seen distantly with about 20 Common Eider on the rocks on the east side of the inlet. Digiscoped phötös and video taken. Bright bill, bluish head, and black back with white patches on rear flanks noted from a distance. After viewing the Eider for awhile from the west side, we drove 35 mins over to the east side for better looks. There, we got stunning views and phötös of the adult male, as well as another (previously unknown?) first year male King Eider! Short orange bill caught our eye. Great phötös of both taken. We also got our car stuck in the sand here, so beware!
