Observation details
Seen straight east from Monopoly Marsh overlook, nearly on far side of marsh (about 1 mile according to Google Maps). To the left of the bald cypresses in the middle of the marsh. With mix of herons in one of the few water pools. Pink body, pale neck. Long gray, obvious spatulate bill. Swinging head side-to-side as it fed. This appears to be a first year bird with a feathered head and lighter horn colored bill. A second year bird would have a much grayer bill with a grayer pate or forecrown.
