NOTES: Adult female perched on utility wire ~12m high. Shw began begging before I observed the male. She continued begging as he flew in with in with insect prey. At this stage, male deliveries to the female are usually followed by the female delivering the item to the nest. Three HY males (~2/5 w old) initiated their begging call (sounds a lot like the typical kestrael "killy killy") probably in response to the adult female's begging calls. I was at the top of a ladder at the nestbox so the aim to the utility wire is poor and there is wind and mechanical noise. The nestbox is ~3.5m high and was at my shoulder behind the parabolic reflector.; The values for Latitude/Longitude were gotten from www.topozone.com 12Dec2001-LAS. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Falco sparverius sparverius to Falco sparverius [sparverius Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Other Behaviors: Beg. Habitat: Pond.
