Observation details
Two owls calling. One was overhead. He was well hidden and it was dark. We could not locate him with our camera phones. The second was about 20 yards away. Both were making the high pitched hissing calls. Very different from any of the other owls expected in the area. My son did ask why it could not be a screech owl. Screech owls should really be called warbling owls. The area is heavily wooded. I had not noted the uniqueness of this bird to the area. Note i found these guys three nights in a row.
