Observation details
Easily at least 18 counted. There were three occupied nest sites observed from the west end of the boardwalk. At the platform close to the boardwalk, both adults were present, with two large feathered juveniles in nest. The other two man-made platforms visible from this site were across the bay at the Rumstick Point salt marsh. Near the north end of the marsh, two adults were present, with one large feathered juvenile in nest. At the older platform closer to the point, both adults were always on and around the very large nest, and were vigorously defending the site and even adding more nesting material. However, I was not able to detect any chicks in nest at this time, even with a scope. There were at least 9 other Ospreys over the area, including six soaring together at one point.
