Observation details
It would take multiple observers to figure out how many kingbirds are at LLC now. Minimum of 15, but possibly as many as 18 individuals. Only 1 group bred on LLC with certainty. The evidence for this is an adult feeding 3 dependent fledglings at 34.44336 -119.84718, which is not far from where I saw nest building earlier in the breeding season. Photo shown below of adult with fledglings. Jamie Chavez suggests there is a coastal movement of post-breeding Western Kingbirds. This could account for the large number of Westerns.
