NOTES: singing from top of bush overlooking a wadi, called more rapidly in response to playback, desert is flooded from heavy rain, this is split and is L. meridionalis. [These vocalizations appear to represent the typical song of the meridionalis-group as described on page 514 of Cramp and Perrins (eds.) (1993. The Birds of the Western Palearctic. Vol. VII. Oxford University Press, Oxford), with the 30 songs in the first two parts of the recording having two repeated elements and the 10 songs in the latter part having three. I cannot say whether the whistled calls in the first two parts of this recording were given by this species or not. This was said to possibly represent the same individual as was highlighted in LNS #105002. Quality changed from 2-1 to 2 (though approaching 2-1 in latter part) - CAM - 7 September 2005]. Response to playback: Approach. Habitat: Montane Grassland, Desert.
