Observation details
stealthy birds... they take a very circuitous route back to nest. I have no idea where in the pond the nests may be. I just walk on the trails and don;t attempt to poke around and bother them. I know from experience that if I stumble within 10 feet of a nest all hell would break loose with 5 to 10 rwbbs flying just over my head. Instead I am just getting the most casual flybys and alarms, but I have not observed a female go from branch to nest yet this season, even at a distance. Female alternately expressed audible agitation with brief flights over my head before returning to other branches in same area
