NOTES: HPF@80Hz. mf Tech Note: This was identifed using "Frogs of Tambopata" CI RAP CD. The sound matches that of Osteocephalus leprieurii - Pakitza. mf The following is an e-mail exchange I had with Rex Crocroft: My message to Rex: I am working on some sounds from Madre de Dios, Peru, and identifed a frog, using the Frogs of Tambopata CD, as Osteocephalus leprieurii. It is the O. leprieurii from Pakitza. Has this been split from the same named frog of Tambopata? The location of the recordings of the frog is Pantiacolla, if this helps. Reply from Rex: I am not aware that anyone has done the necessary revision of the genus Osteocephalus or split up "leprieurii" into different named species. If it is any help, the one you have a recording of is the more widespread form and is what most people are thinking of when they refer to leprieurii. mf.
