Observation details
*Rare. Singing (recorded) and seen. To find the bird: Bird was in the northeast corner of park, in dense undergrowth of dry part of red maple swamp. To get there, come from soccer fields off of Beacon Street. Go down path with wooden footbridge over small stream. Path begins near green shed that has spray painted “puppet master” on the back side. Proceed down the dirt/gravel path approximately 100 yards. Bird was singing off of small path that goes to the right from the main path after some honeysuckle on the right. Bird was large and long overall for an empid. Light greenish/olive overall with pale belly. Bold eye ring. On the recording, the flycatcher is heard most clearly starting around 1 min into this recording.
