Observation details

Gray auricular region surrounded by buffy-orange supercilium and malar region. Buffy breast and sides with fine streaking throughout these areas. Faint, fine lateral throat stripes. White median crown stripes bordered by black stripes on each side. Purplish nape. We heard the bird while pulling off May Rd looking for grasshoppers. I noticed a song we were hearing seemed too buzzy for GRSP. We played the LeConte’s call in response ,and the bird flew extremely close to he edge of the road, allowing us a minute or so to get pics.
