Media players for MPEG-4 and other standards
- Apple's Quicktime (Mac and Windows) free but solicits you to spend $30 to upgrade to the professional version. The upgrade is worth it if you want to do some basic work with your own video. Quicktime Pro is included with Final Cut Pro.
- Real Player (look hard to find the free version, works on Mac, Windows, and they have a Linux/Unix Player too.)
- VLC is a highly
flexible open source media player with versions for just about
every operating system out there.
