Sights and Sounds of America's Birds

The Macaulay Library is undertaking an ambitious effort to capture all North American bird species on audio and video. These recordings enhance the Library's breadth and depth, and are of immense value for education and research, as well as for management and conservation.

See our Big Year Expeditions website detailing our efforts in 2007 to record North American birds in Alaska, Florida, Nova Scotia, and Texas.

In 2008, expeditions have already visited the Canadian Arctic, Guatemala, South Carolina, Texas, western Mexico and the Great Basin.
