NOTES: ON ROCKY POINT ABOVE THE SEA RECORDED BIRDS IN FLIGHT AS IT GREW DARK. THEY SAILED OVERHEAD RATHER INFREQUENTLY IN FAST GRACEFUL CURVES SOMETIMES GIVING THEIR CALLS: A PENETRATING 'PEET PEET PEET' AND OCCASIONAL PUPPY-LIKE NOISES. NOT NEARLY AS MANY BIRDS OR AS VOCAL AS ON MEYER ISLET IN THE KERMADECS IN DEC. 1966 (SEE LNS 983 & 984);
