NOTES: Possibly a pair? Recorded in dense, scrubby growth (some of it bamboo) near markers 11-12 on trail. Bird was 12-15 m away and about 10 m up; weather conditions same. Bird seen moderately well after approach to playback, and was clearly a male Thamnomanes that appeared to lack black in throat, but calls more similar to T. ardesiacus/saturninus than those of T. caesius. An odd call that is not represented by the cuts I listened to of T. saturninus (LNS #48092, 51991, 52202, 52246) nor of Thamnomanes caesius (47930, 47934, 47937, 47939, 48086, 48214, 48222, 47860); suggested from tape to probably be T. caesius by Kevin J. Zimmer.
