    Equipment Note

NOTES: Song and calls of pair recorded along a different road through somewhat scrubby, low-stature (possibly semi-deciduous) forest with dense undergrowth and scattered trees. Birds initially 15-20 m away, later 10-12 m away in relatively dense undergrowth. Clearly a pair, the birds both coming in to playback, generally 1-3 m up and often perching on horizontal branches. Often silent, but regularly giving "chiff" calls and sometimes other calls, or singing. Completely clear, calm, 74¡ F. Several cuts combined, recorded at 8:02, 8:05, and 8:07. Mike attenuators on and using Benchmark MicMan Jr. preamp with Sennheiser ME-64 microphone in 24" Roche parabola. Copied with HPF@180 Hz.
