    Equipment Note

NOTES: Song of unseen bird high up in relatively low trees(canopy 8-10 m tall) and initially 15 m, later 20-25 m away. After playback, but response seemed to be minimal. Either same bird as cut #98RDAT03-04 or its mate (two birds singing). Rather different than songs on "Songs of the Antbirds" CD set, but with initial, stuttering notes of songs depicted in some spectrograms of Whitney et al. (2000. 117:869-891). Mike attenuators on and using Benchmark MicMan Jr. preamp with Sennheiser ME-64 microphone in 24" Roche parabola. Copied with HPF@180 Hz.
