NOTES: L.F. MAJOR. THE FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE TAPE IS GIVEN BY W.H. THORPE. IN THIS ANNOUNCEMENT HE EXPLAINS HOW THE TWO BIRDS STARTED DUETTINGTOGETHER WITH PERFECT TIMING ALTHOUGH THEY WERE SOME DISTANCE APART. THEN THEY APPROACHED SOME OTHER NEIGHBORS WHO JOINED IN SOMEWHAT HALF-HEARTEDLY. THEY DO NOT MENTION RINGED BIRDS SO AS THE LOCALITY IS DIFFERENT. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME BIRDS THAT WERE RECORDED EARLIER. THE COMBINATION IN THIS DUET SEEMS TO BE BOU-FLUTE-BOU. MYLESANNOUNCES THE TIME AND LOCALITY. J.F.M. HORNE CONSIDERS IT MORE LIKELY THAT THIS CUT IS INCLUDED IN THORPE'S 'DUETTING AND ANTIPHONAL SONG IN BIRDS', CAMBRIDGE UNIV. PRESS, 1972. SEE PAGES 21 AND 35 OF THAT MONOGRAPH. SEE ALSOLNS 8765 FOR ADDITIONAL COMMENTS.
