NOTES: L.F. MAJOR. IN THIS CUT MYLES IS AGAIN WORKING WITH THE RINGED (BANDED) POPULATION. DOUBLE GREEN (GG) AND DOUBLE RED (RR) ARE FEATURED IN THIS CUT. MYLES IS WORKING WITH W.H. THORPE, AUTHOR OF 'DUETTING AND ANTIPHONAL SONG IN BIRDS' (CAMBRIDGE UNIV. PRESS 1972). IT IS QUITE POSSIBLE, IN FACT VERY LIKELY,THAT THE RECORDINGS REFERRED TO UNDER 'MUSICAL EXAMPLE--NUMBER AND DATE' NOS.45, 46, AND 47 (PP.21&35) REFER TO THIS SERIES OF CUTS. J.F.M.HORNE RECCOMENDS THAT THORPE'S MONOGRAPH BE CONSULTED. THE SONG COMBINATION IS NOT QUITE CLEAR AS MYLES SAYS I.E. HE CANNOT TELL WHICH BIRDIS MAKING WHICH NOTE. WHATEVER THE COMBINATIONTHIS IS A BEAUTIFUL BOU FLUTE DUET OR POSSIBLY TRIO.
