NOTES: Background: ORIOLUS LARVATUS (LIQUID NOTES); General climate: DRY; Cover density: THICK; Weather: WIND; L.F.MAJOR. CHATTERING AND TICKING SCOLD WITH OCCASIONAL BELL-LIKE NOTES, WHICH ARE TYPICAL. THESE TWO BIRDS CAME THROUGH THE BRUSH BOWING AND STRETCHING AND THEN MOVED ON. THE BIRDS STRETCHED AND BOWED WHILE VOCALIZING, ESPECIALLY THE MALE, WHILE MOVING FAIRLY RAPIDLY FROM BUSH TO BUSH. THE BIRDS KEPT UP THE SOUNDS ALMOST CONTINUALLY, IT WAS AS THOUGHTHEY WERE PLAYING TOGETHER AT 'TAG'. THE AREA WAS FAIRLY THICK WITH BRUSH, SO ALTHOUGH THEY MOVED FAIRLY RAPIDLY FROM BUSH TO BUSH THEY DIDNOT MOVE FAR FROM THE RECORDIST. DRY, COOL 'LELESHWA' COVERED COUNTRY, THICK. SOME THORN SCRUB, GOOD GRASSLAND WHERE OPEN. 0700-0800 HRS.
