NOTES: L.F. BICOLOR. AT MAMBOVA, THERE IS A SWAMP,WITH TALL GRASSES, ETC., ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE RIVER, AND OPEN CULTIVATED COUNTRY, WITH A VILLAGE AND ACACIAS, ON THE EAST. THE BIRDS WERE CALLING BOTH IN THE SWAMPVEGETATION AND IN THE ACACIAS. C.W. BENSONBELIEVED THAT THERE WAS A CLEAR-CUT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SONGS OF L.F. BICOLOR AND L.F. MOSSAMBICUS, AND IN DUET IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS: BICOLOR BEGINS WITH A QUICK RATTLE FOLLOWED BY A FLUTE CALL, AND MOSSAMBICUS DOES NOT HAVE THIS PRELIMINARY RATTLE. EXAMPLES TO SHOW THIS: RATTLE SONG (NOT A SCOLD) FOLLOWED BY FLUTE. ALSO AT THE END A FEW FLUTES WHICH COULD BE CONFUSED WITH THAT OF MOSSAMBICUS.
