NOTES: MYLES' DESCRIPTION OF THIS CUT IN HIS RECORDING NOTEBOOK READS THUS: 'THE BIRD WAS ON TOP OF A SMALL TREE 5M UP - BROWN BIRD, LONG BODY, LONG LEGS, LONG TAIL, PIPIT-LIKE, NO VERY DISTINCT FEATURES'. THE COTTRELLS WERE WITH MYLES AND MRS.COTTRELL DISAGREED WITH MYLES ABOUT THE BILL. SHE FELT THAT IT WAS TOO STOUT TO BE A PIPIT. THIS CUT IS CLASSIFIES THUS AS THE EDITOR, J.F.M. HORNE, FEELS IT IS MOST LIKELY TO BE THIS SPECIES. AS FAR AS J.F.M.HORNE REMEMBERS RICHARD'S PIPIT DOES HAVE ASONG SIMILAR TO THE SONG RECORDED HERE.
