THIS SPECIES OFTEN GIVES A CALL OF ONLY ONE SYLLABLE. THE TWO TYPES ARE ON THIS TAPE. THE FIRST CALL ON TAPE, WI MALE(S); FEMALE(S)TH ECHO EFFECT, WAS MADE WITH PARABOLA. EACH TIME A KIWI CALLED, I TURNED ON THE MACHINE. I NOW HAVE TAPED THE 3 SPECIES OF APTERYX WHICH ARE ALL DIFFERENT.
