NOTES: (Time: 0450-0638. Bkground Sounds: Zosterops borbonica singing its dawn song! Many heard. Breeding Status: Breeding. Stimulus for Sound: Natural (no playback), then playback own song.) HPF 200. I was at the "same" tree position where I had been yesterday. Calls first natural then a short single playback evoked calls and a long sequence of songs. A second bird callilng the "cat call" in the background. (I again noted them drinking nectar from the Eugenia jambos flowers.) The singer moved up hill then returned to playback. Annotation of "playback" includede. They eat the Eugenia flowers by squeezing it with the bill until the central part of it falls away. It then eats the remaining position. A section with loud bill snaps is aggressive as annotated. (I again saw an aerial display.).
