Breeding status: Territorial

[Two extended, mimetic songs. Species imitated appear to include Piranga ludoviciana (0:12, 0:18, 0:255, 0:46), Passerella iliaca (0:12, 0:185, 0:405, 0:42, chink call), Coccothraustes vespertinus (0:125; rolling "freet" call), Sitta carolinensis (0:13, 0:19, 0:425), Poecile gambeli (0:14, 0:295, 0:44; gargle), Turdus americanus (0:16, 0:22, 0:275, 0:435, 0:45, 0:48; various calls), Cyanocitta stelleri (0:17, 0:305, 0:41), Catharus guttatus (0:235, 0:465; chup-chup), Oporornis tolmiei (0:30; song), and Vireo cassini (0:44; a single song element). I cannot determine whether or not the loud, high-pitched notes at 0:04, 0:16, 0:19, 0:24, 0:28, and 0:31 were given by the singing bird. Quality added (2-1 - assuming that the loud notes amid the first song were given by this bird) - CAM - 4 February 2005]
