NOTES: (Time: 1140-1445. Breeding Status: Breeding. Behav. Context: "Nectar defense" with s ome "mobbing." Gen. Habitat: See A.W. Diamond editor, Studies of Mascarene Island Birds, 1987 Cambridge U.P.) The shrill high piping is reminiscent of othe mobbing calls I recorded from this species in the next season (1974): included is much "necgtar defense" calling as they were feeding and "defending" the flowers in a Hypericum and a small group of Z.B. borbonicus were "driven off." Some calls of borbonicus heard with the chloronothus. Warbled phrases were chloronothus. The mist when it blanketed down caused a "feeding frenzy."
