NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut #80. Bulk reel #522
a) 12:00 PM. Weather: Fair. Natural song. Quality: 1. Level: +3. 203 tape. LN. 7.5 ips.
This continues after playback; however, the recording was not very loud and bird may not have heard the playback (or thought it a bird far away), for it paid no apparent attention but went on singing from same perch. The end of this section was recorded at high gain intentionally.
b) This is after playback of [high gain portion.] The bird reacted actively to this, coming right to me. Quality: 1. Level: -3. 3.75 ips. LN. Quality: 1. Level: +2. 7.5 ips. LN. Quality: 1. Level: +2. 3.75 ips.
c) 12:50 PM to 1:20 PM. Weather: Fair, windy. No further playback. New song sessions after periods of silence. Bird keeps returning to the same song perch. Quality: 1-. Level: +3. 3.75 ips. LN. Quality: 1. Level: +3, -3, +2. 7.5 ips. LN.
This bird is among the most heavily mottled (breast, chest, sides, and flanks) I've ever seen. Circumstances prevented my collecting it.
