NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut #G-10. Bulk reel #495
Song type 1 = SO-SOO-la; 2 = SO-SO-LA; 3 = SO-LAA.
Location: ~500 m. farther out than Cut G-4. Weather: Fair. An approximate type 1 bird. This bird has also been found in the same place as the bird of G-7. As I tried all kinds of imitations trying to get the bird in again, other birds too approached, but not so closely as this. However, can hear a type 2 medium-high and a type 1 medium-low. This last bird had been heard +/- repeatedly slightly to south (i.e. "in" more) and on west side of road. Quality: 3. Level: 0. 175 tape. Std. Copied N-4.2 to N-IV on 175 tape.
I decoyed this bird in, but when it came into view it was so close I couldn't shoot it without destroying it, so let it go. However, I could see it was a very saturatedly colored bird much like the bird collected 21 June and is darker than the bird of G-7 which I collected in this spot 23 June (a type 1 voice bird).
Later I went to a different point to try to decoy this bird again, which is when the SN recording was made. But the bird kept hidden, circling around, and I couldn't see it again.
