Road to Turiamo - Birds (Soisolas) active vocally from dawn to 8:30 or 9:00 AM. All three phrase types were heard and were probably +/- equally common considering the entire retion from lower elevations to upper elevations (on the inland side from the pass; the coastal slope was not checked). However, one might obtain a different impression if he listened at only one spot. For example, at dawn in the lower part (70-100 m. altitude), the main song type heard was type 2 (according to notes I made; also, as heard in background of Cut 18 of Cyanocompsa cyanoides), but after 6:30 AM I began walking slowly up the road and at ~ the 170 to 200 m. altitude there were mostly types 3 and 1, while at the 220-250 m. altitude, all those were heard, but mainly 1 and 2 (see cuts 20 a & b).
